Ladies Only Fitness has found a new place to house their energetic antics.
Opening their doors yesterday at 428 W. Kansas Avenue, the location allows owner Leslie Sledge the ability to expand her facility and give patrons easier access to classes.
"The best part of this move is we can add more machines and we are tweaking it right now to see where everything can go," Sledge said.
The move is due to First National Bank requiring Sledge's old property at 314 W. Chickasha Avenue for expansion, but she is not complaining given that her current location has an extra 700 square feet of space for expanding her business.
Formally the Chickasha Leader building, Sledge said she leased the property from Bordwine industries and may end up expanding beyond the current 2,900 square foot structure.
"There is a back part of the building that we can expand into as well," she said.
Such an expansion would allow Sledge to engage children in fitness, a topic, she said is very near to her heart.
"The dream is kids can come in and just have fun," she said. "They don't have to work out, but we want to have activities for them that will keep them active and preferably outside when at all possible."
The program, Kendi's Kids - named for Sledge's daughter - would allow women to workout while their children also did something active and positive.
Sledge said First National plans to use her former facility to house their IT department and for training purposes.
Ladies Only Fitness is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. They close at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and are open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
