Chris Sylve, the man accused of knowingly transmitting the HIV/AIDS virus to two women, entered a plea of guilty today at the Grady County Courthouse.
Sylve also plead guilty to three counts of second degree rape of a minor. Sylve was sentenced to 15 years for each count of rape and five years for both counts of knowingly intending to transmit the HIV/AIDS virus.
Sylve's sentences will run concurrently and therefore he will serve 15 years minus the time served in jail leading up to today.
Assistant District Attorney Leah Edwards said Sylve will also have to register as a sex offender.
"We feel the sentence expressed the wishes of the family and they received what they wanted," Edwards said.
Sylve will be subject to post imprisonment inspections upon his release.
