Arrest made in east side shooting

CHICKASHA —

A man has been arrested for his involvement in a shooting last week on the east side of Chickasha.

Clinton Jermaine Holder was arrested by Chickasha Police after he was identified in a photo lineup on Aug. 2. Holder was arrested for shooting with intent to kill and assault and battery with a deadly weapon stemming from a July 31 incident.

Last Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Shepard Street where they found 18-year-old Dearius Neff had sustained gunshot wounds and had been transported to the emergency room with non-life threatening injuries.

Residents told Chickasha Police officers that they had heard six or seven shots fired and a small white car was seen leaving the scene at a high rate of speed.

Neff gave a description of the man he believed to have shot him; 5'9" to 5'10", light skinned, tattoos, short hair and mixed race heritage, according to a CPD arrest affidavit. Holder fit that description and was identified in a photo lineup.

The affidavit also states that during an interview with Holder at Chickasha Police Station, Holder admitted he and Neff do not like each other, but denies shooting him. He also offered an alibi that could not be verified.
