GRADY COUNTY —
This morning I woke to the warmth of the sun and the not unexpected continuation of our existence.
I like to think that most people knew this whole business was going to an end in apocalypse, but I know a few people personally that were obsessed with the idea of the 2012 Mayan disaster.
There are a few things that are important to remember in the wake of this non-existent doomsday.
First, there will always be those who claim to know when the world will end. Throughout history, this person or that person has had the foresight to predict the end of existence. The only thing they all seemed to share in common was they were all wrong. Still, people fall victim to these ploys and the results are disastrous. Planning life with a little bit of what if mentality is not a bad thing. If more did it, they wouldn't fall to these terrible schemes.
In contrast to that it is also important to keep an eye on the sky so to speak. I kind of doubt that some alien race, or Godly force is going to wipe out our world, but it is a dangerous time. We need to be aware of those around us while also not falling for pointless and idiotic lies.
It's a tough road to walk, but it's vastly important that we try to give it the best stroll we can.
