Family Saturdays:

Bonsai Basics

• When: Sept. 22, 10 a.m.

• Where: Myriad Children’s Garden Pavilion

• Details: Come as a family and learn some of the basics to taking care of your own bonsai.  With this introduction participants will learn about different plants suitable for bonsai as well as pruning, soils and different wiring practices. $5 members; Free for non-members.

Knots in the Garden

• When: Sept. 23, 1-2 p.m.

• Where: Myriad Children’s Garden Pavilion

• Details: Learn about knots in general and those used by arborists (Tree experts). Then take a turn in a tree climbing harness using your knowledge.  $2-nonmember; Free for members.

United States Navy Band

“Country Current”

• When: Sept. 23, 7 p.m.

• Where: Myriad Great Lawn

• Details: See the U.S. Navy’s premiere country and bluegrass band, Country Current, perform a full range of modern country hits, old country standards and traditional bluegrass favorites on the Gardens’ Great Lawn. Free and open to the public.
