Couple to celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

— John and Martha Robison of Chickasha will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception planned for Saturday, the 25th of June, hosted by their children and grandchildren.  

John Robison and the former Martha Fredricks were married on June 23, 1951, in Homewood, KS by Martha’s grandfather Elder C. E. Andrews.  They have lived in Chickasha, OK for most of their married life. Martha is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chester R. Fredrick’s of Ottawa, KS and John is the son of  the late Mr. and Mrs. Byron Robison of Princeton, KS. John and Martha met at the Dutch Maid Ice Cream Parlor where Martha worked.  John has always had a love for ice cream.  

Martha was born in Ottawa, KS and attended Ottawa High School for two years and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1950. After moving to Chickasha and raising her three little boys she worked as a nurse for Dr. Young and Dr. Barbara McDougal.  She now enjoys spending time with her family, loving on her grandchildren, as well as tending to her flowers in her garden.

John was born in Princeton, KS, and attended high school in Williamsburg. He graduated in 1948.  He worked for New Holland Machine Co. as a territory sale manager selling farm equipment to dealers.   John retired at age 56. He enjoys spending time with his family, helping his sons, and working in his shop.

 The Robison’s children and their spouses include Rodney and Teresa Robison of Germantown, TN, David and Dara Robison of Piedmont, OK, and Kevin and Brenda Robison of Chickasha, OK.   They have also been blessed with six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
