A 50th wedding anniversary reception honoring Perry and Virginia Ramsey of Chickasha will be held at the First Christian Church on Sunday, July 3 from 3-5 p.m.
Perry and Virginia were married in this same church on Aug. 6, 1961. Most of their married life, Chickasha has been their home. Virginia’s parents were Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey Parnell of Chickasha and Perry’s parents were Jack Ramsey and Pauline Ramsey of Blanchard.
Virginia graduated from Chickasha High School and the University of Oklahoma. She was a teacher for several years and now enjoys time with family and friends. She is busy volunteer work, gardening, and being Mom or Nana.
Perry graduated from Chickasha High School and Central State University before beginning his business career with Ford Motor Company in Detroit. After moving back to Chickasha, he worked at Oklahoma National bank for a brief time. He served as vice-president in charge of operations for Maremont (Arvin), retiring after 24 years. He then worked as a business consultant for Canadian Valley Technology Center for several years. He has always loved living the life of a rancher and farmer on their home east of Chickasha. Perry is busy with community and church work, but is best known as Dad, Gindy and D.D.
Hosting this anniversary celebration will be their children and grandchildren: Stephen, Donna, Trevor and Preston of Coppell, Texas; Jack, Deana and Avery of Peachtree City, Georgia; and Dorsey, Gianna and Parker of Moore.
Friends and family are invited to come with a favorite memory or story to share. The couple requests no gifts, please.
