Allens celebrate golden anniversary

Jim and Nadine Allen celebrated their 50th anniversary on Saturday, April 21. They were married April 21, 1962 at Duke, Okla.

They are both graduates of Southwestern University. Jim graduated with his masters at Oklahoma State University and Nadine from Oklahoma University.

After teaching at Corn, Okla., Clinton-Sherman Air-Force Base, and Gallup, NM,  the Allens moved to Chickasha in 1970. Jim started the electronics program at Canadian Valley Vo-Tech and Nadine taught at Lincoln Fourth Grade Center, both jobs started in the fall of 1970.

Jim purchased a Radio Shack franchise in 1972.  He sold it in 2001 after 29 years and kept the TV and appliance business and it will be celebrating 40 years of business this year.

“We didn’t know anyone in Chickasha when we moved here, but this has been a wonderful city to raise our children, Keith and Kristi Allen, and we love our business friends, our church friends, friends from clubs and other associates.  Thanks to the Chickasha and surrounding area for 42 of our 50 years together,” Jim and Nadine Allen.
