On June 1, 2012 Tommy Britt and Dora Moore Britt celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
Tommy and Dora met in 1955 while Tommy was stationed at Fort Sill, in Lawton, Oklahoma. On June 1, 1957 they exchanged wedding vows with Reverend James N. Marsh officiating.
Added to this union were son, Jimmy R. Britt and wife Tammy of Amber, daughter, Regina L. Britt Williamson and husband Barney M. Williamson of Chickasha, son, David M. Britt and wife Shannon of Whitesbung, Geo., three grandchildren, Deanna L. Williamson, and husband Ryan of Duncan, Krystal N. Williamson Jones, and J.L. Britt and wife Patience, three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
Tommy Britt is an ordained minister with the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is also a retired Captain and Chief of Police. Tommy teaches the adult Sunday School class at New Beginnings Fellowship Church, and is also a Deacon and Co-Pastor at Ninnekah.
Dora worked in hospitals as a CNA and HHA for Hospice and also in the ministry with her husband. Dora is Sunday School Superintendent and teaches Young People Sunday School Teacher periodically at New Beginnings Fellowship Church of Ninnekah.
Tommy and Dora spend their time as contractors with the Express-Star.
The couple agree that the key to their happy 55 year union has been to place God first, family second, and then knowing that everything else will fall into place.
