Foremans celebrate golden anniversary

— Mary Louise Libby and James Melvin Foreman were introduced by Louise’s brother, Ernie Libby, in 1960 after Mel returned from service in the Navy.

Louise and Mel were married on March 10, 1962 in Bell Gardens, Calif. at St. Gertrude’s Church with Ernie Libby standing as the best man and Louise’s best friend, Carol Huerd, serving as maid of honor.

The couple moved back to Mel’s hometown of Chickasha in 1978 to raise their family - a son, Christian Dean Foreman was born in 1969 and a daughter, Tracey Lynn Foreman was born in 1971. Chris married Elesha Thomas in 1995. Tracey blessed the couple with their grandson, Jacob Thomas Fogarty in 2004. Louise’s youngest sister, Faith Heidtman, also moved to Chickasha to be near the family.

Mel retired from Green Bay Packaging in 2000 and Louise retired from Aero Safety in 2004. Mel spends his retirement holding down the recliner and working on his 1948 Suburban restoration while Louise is an active hands-on grandmother.

Congratulations on your 50th wedding anniversary from your family and friends.
